Flagstaff-Tuson-El paso, tx

Friday-June 25th-Hung out with cousin Carol.  Had a special dinner for Carol, Fish stuffed with Crabment, cooked by Jim, then we went to Sadona-What a town-all redish pink, clean, most shops were closed about 9 pm'  The view of the mountains, rocks were great.   Then guess what we did?  Went to a Csasino.  Audrey and Jackie won.  Jim and Rich  lost.

Saturday-June 26-  Waited for cousin Ken and his son, Kevin to arrive.  They arrived late in the afternoon with Kevin's dog Josie.  It took some time for them (the dogs) to get acqainted, but Eddy (the oldest of all the dogs-female naturally) had to straighten them out.  Carol cooked a great pot roast dinner. Afterwards we all just hung out and visited.  It was great to see Ken-we are all getting old.

Sunday-June 27-  We said goodby to my cousin Ken and son Kevin.  Off we went to Phoenix, had to drop some things off at Carol's winter home, just beautiful.  It was only 117 degrees.  Looked at a RV campground for seniors.  Rich and Jackie are looking to be snowbirds in the winter.  Back to Carol's No Casino, No TV, No news.  John thanks for the update on the NFL and the Pirates.  Tracie congrats in staying in the 6th grade, she is a teacher.

Monday-June 28-Said our goodbys to Cousin Carol and we started off to El Paso, Tx.  Headed into   Phoenix there was a bad accident, naturally two tractor trailers, and it was backed up for several miles.
We got into Tuson, Az, it was late , we were tired so we stayed at a nice senior-Sams club RV park.  Great pool it was hot, plus there were 3 Casinos nearby.  Guess what happened again?  We first went swimming then to the Casino. Audrey won, Jim, Rich and Jackie lost.  No TV, No news.

Tuesday-June 29- Left Tuson and we were headed to El Paso.  It was 101 degrees at 9 AM.  Things were going good, but when we were 200 miles from El Paso we had  a second flat tire.  Rich was driving again.  We had a tire this time, but we had to wait several hours for tripple A.  We made it into El Paso about 9:30PM.  The temp was done to 87 degree, but a little humid.   They had cable at this campground, but ours did not work. Go figure.  No Casino tonight, No TV , No news.

Thursday, June 23-Carol made breakfast, very good. Boarded Grand Canyon Railroad for the Grand Canyon.  Very nice trip, had a second breakfast on the train.  We were entertained by a singing cowboy.   Grand Canyon is unbelievable, so big, so deep and if you stare at it long enough it looks like a large picture.  Very hot, but not humid. Awsome sight. Return trip on the train was very relaxing and entertaining.  This time we had a Banjo playing cowboy and there was a train robbery.  Great fun.  When we arrived back at Cousin Carol she made us her special chicken and salad.  Great day.   No Casino, no TV just relaxed.

Rushmore, what a sight.  It is awesome.  Saw some of the rock formation in the mountains, it was worth the drive.  There were buffalo along  the way went to Crazy Horse another great sight.  Had dinner in Hill City SD and saw a wild west gun fight.  No Casinos today, maybe tomorrow.

Thursday- We are losing track of the days, haven't watched TV yet, to busy.  On our way to Yellowstone, WY today, they have Casinos and cold weather.  The low is supposed to be 27 with some snow and a high of 47 tomorrow.  Where is summer.

Moran, WY

Friday-Thought we had it made, but when they brought out the tire it had two holes in it.  They plugged the holes, just so we could get to the campground and then we were off to Idaho Falls, Idaho, 123 miles away but on the way to get the tire we somehow didn't see a reduced speeding sign and we were pulled over by the Idaho Highway Patrol; just another speed bump in the road .  We got the tire, in fact I bought a 2nd tire for safety.  On our way back we stopped at Jackson Hole, nice town.

(Jim was driving this time).  There were Buffalos, Elks, Bears, Wolf, Ducks and a chipmunk.  Mama Bear had her two cubs near the road and caused a huge traffic jam.  Tomorrow we are off to Castle Rock, Co to see Sharon, Rich and Jackie's daughter.  AGAIN NO CASINO,  NO TV AND NO NEWS WHEN WILL THIS END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOUTH DAKOTA

Audrey said I can not type everything in capital letters because that means I am yelling at everyone, but she is the one always yelling.

Wednesday- Started out at Mt. Rushmore, what a sight.  It is  unbelievable well worth the trip. Rich stated that this should be the 8th wonder of the world.  Headed up the mountains, traveled thru tunnels in the mountains, large rock formations.  This country we live in is great, so much to see.  Saw Buffalo, Elk, deer then went to see Crazy Horse, another great sight.  Ate dinner at the Alpine Inn in Hill City, saw a wild west show then headed back to see the light show at Crazy Horse another awsome sight. No Casinos today, maybe tomorrow.

Thursday-  Left the Lazy J campground, which was nice especially Renelle who guided us to our various locations.  The trip was going good, 520 miles, but then we hit the mountains outside of Buffalo, Wy.  Snow on top of the mountains, then the step downhill, naturally Rich was driving.  When we hit bad weather Rich is always driving.  Near Dubois, Wy the winds picked up and we had to slow down, it felt like someone was constantly shaking the RV.  When we were 52 miles away we then decided to continue over the mountain; big mistake, snow everywhere, it got dark and started to snow.  Took us a while to get down the mountain and when we were about a 1/4 mile from the campgound we blew a left front tire; of course Rich was driving again!  It was 11:30 at night, called AAA, but we were in the middle of nowhere and couldn't get any help till morning. We had to stay overnight on the side of the Highway. Another day without a Casino!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seven days and no TV, no news how great is that.

Friday- First we were told there was no tire available in the area and we would have to travel 100 miles to pick up a tire.  Finally we were saved by the service man, Todd, who found a tire, but we will still be delayed here for several hours. Then we're off to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole.  More to come......
